Supporting the entire healthcare journey

Healthcare is complex, and whether you’re a patient, provider, payer, or administrator, we all need a helping hand from time to time. Imagine a world where personalized help was available whenever you needed it. With Infermedica’s AI-powered Medical Guidance Platform (MGP), constant support is at our fingertips.

The MGP leverages the powerful clinically-validated technology behind Infermedica’s successful Symptom Checker tool, and aims to provide personalized patient care from symptom to outcome.

With the release of Infermedica's API-first Medical Guidance Platform, we will expand our solutions from supporting symptom analysis to applying our clinical intelligence to the entire care continuum for patients, payers, physicians, nurses, technicians, medical assistants, and other frontline health workers across the globe. Through these human-centric and physician-verified solutions, we can address the rapidly-changing challenges and needs of global healthcare communities.

“We developed Infermedica’s core technology in 2012 but soon realized it could be used to solve many more issues plaguing the global healthcare system. Over time, we have made significant investments using an evidence-based approach and in accordance with globally recognized medical device regulations, to create something that meets data privacy, IT security, accuracy standards, but most importantly healthcare’s needs.”

What is the Medical Guidance Platform?

Built upon Infermedica’s proprietary Intelligent Core and implemented through a flexible API gateway or ready-to-use modules, our Medical Guidance Platform enables healthcare organizations to create configurable, interoperable solutions that meet their health system’s unique needs. It includes three modules:

  • Infermedica Triage—covers early analysis of patient symptoms, intelligent interview, and calculation of triage level,

  • Infermedica Intake—enables pre-visit patient intake and data collection to enhance medical consultations and empower providers,

  • Infermedica Follow-up—supports post-visit communication and treatment-plan adherence to ensure the patient is on track. Stay tuned - this module will be available soon.

These modules were developed through collaboration between our team of engineers and 40+ physicians. They are powered by our proprietary Intelligent Core, which includes our extensive Medical Knowledge Base, Inference Engine, and API. Furthermore, our solutions are continuously improved and validated to ensure the highest-quality medical content and reliable evaluation of medical data.

Answering the challenges in healthcare

Our work to address the many challenges faced by healthcare is just the beginning. It is estimated that up to five billion people will not have access to basic healthcare by 2030. Provider shortages and burnout are the primary causes and both are increasing at alarming rates. Through our technology, we aim to support the entire patient care journey—from Intake, to Triage, and soon Follow-Up. We also want to apply our clinical intelligence to the evolving needs of physicians, nurses, technicians, medical assistants, and other frontline health workers facing job dissatisfaction and burnout worldwide.

“Our mission is to ease the strain on global healthcare systems and make healthcare more accessible, convenient and affordable. By automating certain administrative tasks within the primary care journey, we can streamline the experience for patients and allow clinicians to focus on providing the highest quality care. The Medical Guidance Platform is the first step to achieving our vision of truly human-centric healthcare.”

Piotr Orzechowski / Founder & CEO, Infermedica

We continuously monitor the needs of our users and, with this release, we have added new features in the Platform, including Patient Intent Survey and Patient Education. Patient Intent Survey is intended to help better understand a patient’s needs before their appointment. Patient Education is a library of curated educational resources to support self-care for patients who have mild symptoms and do not need in-person care.

Let’s talk about healthcare

To date, we have spent over 60,000 physician hours building one of the world's most advanced medical knowledge bases of diseases, symptoms, and risk factors. We are now opening an industry-wide discussion on the meaning and importance of a human-centric approach to healthcare technology. We want to facilitate the discourse on this key topic, and ultimately, to help everyone align on what should and can be done in order to improve health outcomes for all.

The Medical Guidance Platform is accessible through API as well as ready-to-use modules matched with the most common healthcare journeys. To find out more about our solutions for companies operating in the healthcare industry get in touch with our team.
